Short films produced by students of the Department of Cinema and Television at Çankırı Karatekin University’s Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture were screened at the Ahmet Yesevi Conference Hall. The event attracted strong participation and brought together academics, students, actors and cinema enthusiasts.
During the screenings, nearly 20 short films prepared by the students throughout a demanding production process were presented to the audience. Before each screening, the students who took part in the films introduced themselves and shared brief information about their roles in the production process. The films reflected the students’ creative perspectives, storytelling abilities and practical skills in areas such as directing, cinematography, editing, acting and production.
Following the screenings, academic staff members of the Department of Cinema and Television evaluated the films and shared their comments and suggestions with the students. The event provided an important platform for students to receive academic feedback and to present their work to a wider audience.
Prof. Dr. Ersoy Yılmaz, Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, expressed his satisfaction with the students’ productions and stated that the faculty would continue to support student-led creative works. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunç Boran, Head of the Department of Cinema and Television, emphasized that the films were completed after a challenging and intensive period. He underlined that the students demonstrated great determination and effort, and expressed his hope that the experience they gained during the process would contribute to their future professional and artistic lives.
Actors who took part in the student films were also invited to the stage and thanked for their contributions. In addition, Musa Katı, an important figure in Çankırı’s artistic community who has acted in student films for many years, was presented with a gift by Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dönmez in recognition of his valuable support.
The short film screenings highlighted the Department of Cinema and Television’s production-oriented educational approach and offered students an opportunity to share the outcomes of their creative and technical development with the audience.
